A local school is hosting a special spaghetti dinner and silent auction next week to raise money for a young student undergoing cancer treatments in Edmonton.
Four-year-old Clyde Weber attends Good Shepherd School's early entry program for pre-kindergarten students. He was recently diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour, school principal Lou Ann Demers-Noble said.
"Last week was his first week of radiation and this week is his first week of chemotherapy," Demers-Noble said yesterday morning. "I'm totally, totally heartbroken for the family…
"He's only four years old and he has an older brother and sister who both go to our school as well," she said. "They touch a lot of our hearts. A lot of the staff here have taught them. They're just an extremely nice family."
Looking to relieve some of the financial burden and create more opportunities for the entire family to be with Clyde as he undergoes treatment at the Stollery Children's Hospital, Good Shep decided to organize a dinner fundraising event.
"We are doing a spaghetti dinner night and silent auction," she said. "And so far the silent action items are coming in. Hopefully it will be a really big event."
Please help out anyway you can:
1) attend the dinner with your family $20 per family (pay at the door) bring either buttered buns or a salad with a serving spoon please :),
2)donate an item(s) for the silent auction by Monday February 1st to the office at Good Shepherd School during regular school hours,
3) bid on items at the silent auction (this is really important..come down to the school and bid please :),
4) donate financially (either personally or through a company),
5) donate your time; call the school to see if they need volunteers to run the meal 780 799 5763,

8) pass this event onto your friends and anyone else you think may be able to help out...
Generosidade. Niesamowite!
